Yesterday I listened to the Apogees that “W” bought from John recently. Very detailed, and they can go loud without effort. I think they (with electrostats) are the least coloured speakers I have listened to. Usually when W plays music through his large 15″ bass and high efficiency ribbon Roche speakers the music is dynamic, exciting and a little coloured. He will probably sell the Apogees (Duetta Signatures) for $3300.
Before listening to the Duettas I listened to Scintillas at another enthusiasts home. Next week a few friends and I will have a more serious listen, and I’ll post our comments.
There was also a pair of Duettas on offer by B, but he expected more than $6000.
