Had a discussion with a customer yesterday about listening to Tannoy HPD and Golds. Years ago (before dome tweeters) if you told someone at the audio club you listened to Tannoys they would say “Oh, you like bright sounding speakers”. Then dome tweeters became the norm and owner of modern speakers now say “Oh, you prefer speakers without much top end”. Having had Tannoys for about 30 years I still think that dual concentrics image better than any other large speaker.
The next question is what about super tweeters?
